(40) Pierna Enchilada Torta @ La Torta Gorda

Pierna Enchilada Torta = pulled pork sandwich, Puebla style. The pulled pork was super succulent and saucy. Each torta at La Torta Gorda includes: hearty refried beans, buttery avocado, tangy queso fresco, chopped pickled onions, a spread of mayo, and some diced crunchy jalapenos/chipotles. Somehow this bread is super crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside - there is definitely some Mexican magic going on in this sandwich, yup, I believe that is the only possible explanation. This sandwich was super filling and comforting, one of those familiar feel-good meals. My suggestion: wash it down with a Tamarindo jarrito! La Torta Gorda for the win! Will be back soon!
